Look. Wait. Trust.

Updated: Mar 1, 2021

“I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”

(Micah 7:7)

He will hear me not because I utter many and empty words with my mouth but because my poor, needy heart utters full-throated cries from its depths that He alone can hear.

“I will look to the Lord” as He is the Eternal Wisdom Who knows all things and the Creator of the universe, Who fills it with all that is good and true and beautiful;

“I will wait for the God of my salvation” as He is the Saviour of the lost and the Healer of the broken hearted—the Redeemer of all that is good and has life, yet had been corrupted by sin and death;

and I will trust that “my God will hear me” because just as He is Lord, Creator and Redeemer of my soul, so also is He the Eternal Lover of my soul, Whose compassionate ear is at every moment pressed ever so intimately to my beating heart.

All praise and glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit—the Most Holy Trinity, One true communion of love Divine and perfectly undivided unity of Three.
