Alive At Dawn

When day is past

and night far gone,

I shall rise, alive at dawn

as a nascent fawn,

resurrected, made anew

feet grazing morning’s gentle dew–-

behold, Beauty at long last,

Thy Pierced Heart's Love ever steadfast.

Embracing my cross,

mercy I now receive.

Pour forth torrential love,

as heartfelt hymns of the turtle dove.

Hearing, may all believe;

Seeing, may all suffer no more loss.

Splendour all aglow, exalted Life without dross.

Hail! O invincible glorious King, crucified—

Beauty ever ancient, shelter me under Thy wing,

Love ever new, be Thou my surest guide

while all life long, of Thy mercies shall I sing.
